I've been interested if we could write some sort of a basic history about the world that WARP takes place in. I can probably write it, but I need to know some of the basics first.
o What Heros exist/died in shaping of the current world o Places that are a direct result of this o Web guides that can hold useful information o Other basic Warhammer information o etc |

Well there are various places with the history of the old world (the warhammer world).
A search with google would probably turn up dozens of web pages. |

games workshop produces a ton of great resource materials, including books on each individual race and an overall guide to the world of warhammer. there are also a billion fan sites to the world, warhammer being the second biggest rpg in the world next to d+d. |

Another great source are the Slayer series of books done by William King, gives a fantastic sense of the warhammer world and the characters/heroes in it. Gives a great look into Slayers, skaven mentality, and how dangerous the world of warhammer is with the spreading of Chaos. Also worth reading is Drachenfels by Jack Yeovil. |

I real nice books are also the ones from 'Conrad' trilogy. |

So anyone would be willing to write some history text, which we could maybe be used as help file in-game and on the web-page? |

In addition to that history text, we are in great need of warhammer/warp stories of all kind. Preferably indirectly telling about our game. If you like stories, if you like emotion and if you like to imagine unique and interesting coincidences - please please - submit ideas.
Anything is fine. A one-liner, a three-liner or a ten-liner. Anything is welcome as long as it somewhat fits into our world. We want to use those for storyteller mobiles which will tell stories in pubs, inns or anywhere in the wilderness. For instance just tell a story about you exping: Example A): You could tell a story (of an old man) about how he (you) ran into spiders at this certain scary place. How he barely escaped, how he then met someone else who bound his wounds and how you together killed the evil creature and been good friends every since :) Example B): Running at night into ghouls. Scary. Fleeing. Fighting. Escaping. Bla bla... There is so much potential and every word of such a story will add so much feeling to the game! - Go for it :) |

I found this short essay on William Kings website, the author of the Slayer series of books. It offers a decent explanation for those players wanting to play slayers of why they are what the are and a good look at dwarven society. Heres the link: http://www.trollslayer.net/essays/wss.html |

Having history is of course a good idea, but for this to happen we need to set up and agree upon our own timeline. I.e. we need to fix time (years, months, days of the week), and we need to decide in which timeframe the game is set. This will also help people think on quests and the actual zone building IMO.
Any suggestions for timeframe? - Taal, the God of Nature and Wild Places |
