Beastmen, Beastman [INFO] Type: World, Race Description: Beastmen, otherwise known as the Children of Chaos, are the result of the collapse of the polar gateways of the Old Ones many ages ago which unleashed chaos energy into the material world. Natural animals were fused with this corrupting chaos power, mutating them into what are today termed Beastmen half-man, half-animal. Outlook: The most powerful of Beastmen, and those who make up the leaders and chieftains, are called Gors. Gors are distinguishable by their long horns which are often decorated and painted to enhance the Beastmans stature. They have powerful human torsos and the head and legs of an animal, ranging from a bull to an ox to a goat. Smaller, weaker Beastmen are known as Brays. They have either no horns or very small, stunted ones. They are weaker and less imposing than their Gor leaders. The majority of Beastmen have absolutely no magic aptitude or ability, with the marked exception of the rare breed of Beastmen Shamans. Shamans are highly revered in Beastmen society, believed to be a living link between the tribe and the Chaos Gods. It is very rare for a Beastmen community to have more than one shaman. Society: When Beastmen muster to go on expedition or to wage war, they will gather around a sacred spot of theirs, usually a Herdstone or an important Tree. The Beastman selected to lead all the warbands in battle is known as the Beastlord. The Beastlord is usually the strongest and most vicious of the chieftains. Beastmen have spread all over the warhammer world, preferring to live in dark, secluded forests. Their population numbers are said to be greater than that of all men combined, their threat ever-present as they raid and pillage in the name of the Gods of Chaos.
