Dwarves, Dwarf [INFO] Type: World Description: The dwarves was once a dominant race. They lived deep beneath the mountains in the mines carved by hand from solid rock. The Dwarven Kingdom of old was prosperous and full of splendor and glory. Flourishing underground cities built within the Worlds Edge Mountains showed their crowning achievements. The dwarves today are a mere fraction of those lines that made up the great Dwarven civilization. Most of the dwarven strongholds have fallen, one by one, in the bitter wars with the orcs, goblins or skaven. Even now the remaining dwarf cities are under constant siege. Much of their wealth and power have been reduced, yet they remain a proud and defiant people, as grim as the mountain and as hard as rock. Dwarves are master craftsmen, and expert stone-workers because of their natural affinity with mountains, caverns and mines. They're also known for their strength resiliency, and they stand with broad shoulders, hands and feet, despite their short and stocky stature. Dwarves have long hair and thick beards. They are also said to respect three things above all else: age, wealth and craftsmanship. Dwarves are also known for their honour. Keeping their word above all else. For a dwarf to break a promise made by himself or his ancestors is as good as unthinkable, and a broken bond will be met with vengence. They have a short temper, and they bear grudges forever. (Many of them even keep a list of wrongs done by those who have broken faith with them - the Book of Grudges.) A dwarf's age can be deduced by the length of his beard. Dwarf heroes in the World of Warp typically prosper as great Warriors or the maniacal, fearless Slayers. "Shave me, if I lie!" - Typical Dwarven Oath "There is nothin' as sure in the world as the glitter of gold and the treachery of Elves" - Old Dwarf Saying See Also: RACES, RACEWAR, WARRIOR, SLAYER
