MOVEMENT [INFO, COMMANDS] Type: Movement Syntax: or enter Description: You move around in the Warp World by going from room to room. You can move in six basic directions: east, west, north, south, down, up. Typing those long directions is not needed, it is sufficient to type the first letter of the direction (e.g. n for going north). It might not be possible to go in every direction in all rooms, to see a list of visible exits out of a room, type: EXITS. If you have AUTOEXIT toggled on you can also type look or examine to see which exits lead out of a room. Some directions might be barred by closed doors. In such cases you can usually type OPEN exit to open the exit in that direction and then move that way. Other exits may need you to be able to CLIMB or SWIM, depending on the terrain in the room you're moving to. Also, in some rooms you may use the command ENTER to enter some specific, and mostly otherwise unreachable rooms. Such entrances can not be seen with the EXITS command, but might be found as keywords in the room-description or perhaps be an object in the room. To leave from such rooms you have to type LEAVE, which will bring you back to the room you entered from. All movement costs movement points (mp). How many it costs to move from one room to another depends on many factors such as your race, the terrain, the equipment you are wearing, how much weight you carry, your WILDERNESS skill and if you are riding a MOUNT or not. There are several commands related to movement and manipulating exits: Movement Commands: ------------------ n(orth) s(outh) e(ast) w(est) u(p) d(own) ENTER | LEAVE FLEE FOLLOW Movement Skills: ---------------- CLIMB SNEAK SWIM Manipulating Exits: ------------------- OPEN | CLOSE LOCK | UNLOCK PICK SEARCH AUTOEXIT EXITS See Also: WILDERNESS, MOUNTS, BATTLE, ORIENTATION, POSITIONS, GROUP, REVEAL
